Interpol wanted human trafficker arrested in N’ganj






The police on Sunday night (May 20, 2013) arrested a member of a human traffickers’ gang wanted by Interpol at village Shenpara under Sonargaon thana in Narayanganj of  Bangladesh.


The arrestee was identified as Arif Hossain, 40, son Abu Taher, of the same village.

Sonargaon police sub-inspector Sheikh Sadi said that Arif Hossain was a member of a gang involved in woman and child trafficking.
He was arrested at the instruction of the home ministry, he added.

The police also said that there were 47 members in the gang, adding that they smuggled women and children out of the country and took them to Pakistan which they used as a transit for trafficking the victims to other countries like Dubai, Mishor, India atc. 

 They went into hiding at different places of Bangladesh after the Interpol issued warrants for their arrest.

Police sent Arif Hossain to the Narayanganj Court immediately.
