The Night of Power: laylatul Qadr

The Night of Power or Laylat al-Qadr is an extremely important night for Muslims. This is a night of unique honor, dignity and glory, so much so that it is better than a thousand months. It is the most blessed night of the year. Laylat al-Qadr is the night that the first verse of Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. In Surah Al-Baqarah verses no.185 Allah says:

Professor of American Chicago University Judom Masserman in his book ‘ Who is the greatest leader of world’ point out that Mohammad (SAW) is the greatest leader of the universe for all time.

The greatest historian Sir William Mur said, He (Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was the master mind not only of his own age but all ages.   He posses all the good qualities like, modesty and kindness, self-denial and occupied the affection of others.

Govt launches plan of action to combat human trafficking



DHAKA, MAY 19: A three-year national plan of action was launched on Saturday for combating human trafficking. The stress is on prosecution of offenders and protection of victims, with the involvement of all stakeholders.
The objectives are to make way for certain implementable measures to prevent and put a check on human trafficking and allocate responsibilities among various government agencies and other organisations for these measures, and monitoring the enforcement of existing laws.

Journalists vow to resist any attempt to curb pres freedom


 DHAKA: Journalist observing hunger strike in front of the Jatiya Press Club to press home their demands for arrest the killers of all journalists including sagar-Runi and freedom of the press on Thursday.

DHAKA:Leaders of the journalist community in Bangladesh, on Thursday, said that journalists would resist any attempt to curb the freedom of the press.

Vowing not to go back home till the killers of Sagar and Runi are brought to the book, they said that no influential quarter, including the judiciary, would ever be able to intimidate or control the media.

DHAKA: The Pavilion of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was awarded 1st prize in Mini Pavilion category at Dhaka International Trade Fair-2012.
Commrece minister Ghulam Mohammad Quader handing over the award to Mohammad Abdul Mannan, managing director of the Bank at the closing ceremony of the fair in the district recently.
